Not only gradually cutting emissions to zero, but also taking concrete action to protect the environment: this is the approach for the goTOzeroVGI mission.
One of the most recent projects concerns the protection and promotion of biodiversity, a sphere in which bees play a central role. Through their daily actions, these insects provide a regulating service to ecosystems, thus contributing to the preservation of the biological wealth on our planet.
Upon receiving a report of the presence of a beehive on a Ginko biloba in one of the company's green areas, with the support of the Regional Beekeepers Association of Veneto and in collaboration with Hybla, a beekeeping company specializing in projects of this type, the presence of favorable conditions to accommodate the swarm was verified and two natural honeycomb hives were installed a short distance from the area of the finding.
With a targeted intervention, it was possible to safeguard not only all the wax material built by the bees, but also the contents of the cells: pollen, honey, and the new larvae of worker bees.
At the same time, the bees were fed with a specific syrup to facilitate the recovery of energy following the stress suffered.
A green area, adjacent to the beehives, has also been identified where species of flowers will be planted to provide protection and nourishment.
