It is precisely in this sense that the renovation of the headquarters in Verona should be interpreted. The project, started in November 2021 and expected to last about two years, will revolutionise the appearance of the Office Building, both inside and on the façade. The interventions will not only reduce the building's environmental footprint but also improve its safety standards and modernize its facilities and services, through more efficient and less energy-consuming solutions.
The office layout was rethought with a smart office in mind, with large open spaces, ergonomic furniture, coworking rooms and relaxation areas - a mix of options designed to increase the quality of company life. The first three floors were delivered in late August.

Also the areas dedicated to food services – the company restaurant and the bar - have been recently renovated. Essential furnishings and great brightness are the distinctive elements, while the presence of outdoor spaces encourage interpersonal exchanges.
Among the wellness-oriented initiatives implemented in the company, one that stands out is dedicated to healthy and conscious eating: every Wednesday the company restaurant offers a menu without meat or fish ingredients, from first courses to pizza, passing through second courses and including lunchboxes. A choice that, moreover, allows a significant reduction in CO2 emissions: a vegetarian day corresponds to a reduction of 400 kg of CO2eq.

The willingness to create a healthy and pleasant environment is also reflected in the Oxygen Area, opened in 2021. It is a green area in which trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants specifically selected for their peculiar and effective ability to purify the air have been planted, creating a favourable environment for the absorption of CO2 and the production of oxygen.
The Oxygen Area is located in the middle of the company garden and is equipped with Wi-Fi and benches: a great option for an informal break or meeting, as an alternative workstation but also for events and meetings.
In addition to the Oxygen Area, Volkswagen Group Italy's headquarters houses several green areas, totalling more than 28,000 square meters, with 380 plants.
