Founded on May 9, 1950, SEAT was the car manufacturer that contributed to the motorization of Spain, where some of the most well-known and iconic models of the Barcelona brand are still produced today. The beginning of the history of the brand in Italy dates back to the 1950s, when SEAT began to export models also in the Italian market. In 1983, SEAT signed an agreement with the importer Koelliker and started a new commercial stage, marked by the arrival of the iconic Ibiza. The launch of what will be the best-seller of the brand for years coincides with the entry of SEAT into the Volkswagen Group, which subsequently, in May 1991, will give birth to the company SEAT Italia. On 11 May 1994 SEAT Italia and SEAT Ricambi were integrated into Autogerma, S.p.A., and today SEAT is part of Volkswagen Group Italia, Italian subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group. The SEAT brand has a network of 53 dealers in Italy, with about a hundred showrooms, and 204 Service Partners distributed throughout the country, to provide assistance to its customers.
Today, SEAT is the only automobile manufacturer that designs, develops, manufactures and markets cars in Spain and is the leading industrial investor in R&D in the country, of which it represents 1% of GDP and from which it exports 80% of the cars. A solid company, part of the Volkswagen Group, the world's leading manufacturer group. A company that grows and continues to offer the best mobility solutions to make people's lives easier. With over 70 years of history and 67 models launched, the evolution and modernization of cars has been a constant throughout the journey of the Brand, together with a profound technological development that has shaped every aspect of cars. From security systems to more advanced connectivity. And last but not least, as part of SEAT's commitment to more sustainable and environmentally friendly mobility, SEAT is committed to a strong electric offensive that will see the light in the very near future.
